As part of the activities of the COST Action Ocean Governance for Sustainability (CA 15217) a Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) Training School will be held at Queen’s University Belfast in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The workshop is aimed at PhD students. The training school will focus on examining the emergence of MSP as a new governance paradigm and critically engaging with questions related to stakeholder participation and power. The workshop will also explore how we might move MSP towards more transformative and socially just practices and examine how MSP might be linked to SDGs.

The workshop will run from April 11th to 13th at Queen’s University Belfast. There is a range of accommodation options close to the university (more details to follow for accepted attendees).

There is funding available for a number of early career investigators (ECI) to attend this event – up to a maximum of 300 EURO for UK attendees and 500 EURO for attendees from other non-UK participants.

Trainees eligible to apply for grants:
1. Trainees from COST Full Members / COST Cooperating Member.
2. Trainees from Approved NNC institutions.
3. Trainees from Approved European RTD Organisations.
